signage insanity

No, i am not obsessed with signage. It seems that every abandoned building is covered in signage and most of it does not make sense but if by chance it does its portrayed in an insane way. This province is covered in signage from posters to warnings to road signs we have it all. Here are some crazy ones i found on my latest adventure:
in an elevator
in a church - first part makes sense but "E" - what??
the only book in this church - was at the entrance
what? this is saskatchewan is it not?
industrial building - taken by saskurbex
typical saskatchewan, in 30km there will be another sign

an industrial winter

The very long day trip we took was a huge success. We hit the major location we wanted and then a few ghost towns along the way.

Some trip highlights:
1. Exploring while wearing a hard hat
2. Watching PhoenixEnigma fall into deep snow
3. Exploring abandoned churches (its been a while!)
4. My new camera bag working perfect
5. Finding a very very old elevator
6. Being pushed around a trolly cart around an industrial building
7. Finding some very intersting signage
8. The large location still very much intact and hardly touched

Hardhat, Flashlight & Camera - Im set to explore!
PhoenixEnigma crossing a boardwalk from one building to another
Me on a forklift with my hardhat
SaskUrbex, Me & PhoenixEnigma
LOL - That will teach him not wonder off alone

nature aspect

I know - the following pictures are not urban/rural exploration. But as a part of the hobby we sometimes come across very interesting nature and animals. On our latest adventure in the winter here are some of the things we encountered.

Red rocks in the middle of nowhere!
look at his arms - unbalanced much?

winter getaway

I finally got out on a road trip!

Spur of the moment saskurbex and i decided to go on a road trip and meet up with another explorer. In 1.5 days we drove 1600km in winter conditions. I never really thought this trip out - we counted on the person we met up with to have some ideas.

What i didn't think about was how i would have to spend a full day trapped into a vehicle with two guys. Literally trapped in the back seat. None the less i was ready to explore and put up with some steady harassment.

Some couple key notes about this trip:
1. i am a poor sport and don't like playing games where i steadily lose (Canadian trivia)
2. i owe saskurbex an apology for almost killing him by pushing him off a train (I'M SORRY!!!!)
3. the weather channel lies in regards to how much wind is outside
4. ski pants are devised to make it hard to climb fences
5. i should purchase a canon camera to share lenses with everyone else
6. don't leave your cell phone in the car in case someone inside a building texts you something important
7. pigeons are evil and should not be provoked with a flashlight
8. don't provoke any animals in general.. especially skunks & porcupines
9. security is a joke
10. spur of the moment road trips are an excellent way to de-stress

high tech security - barbed wire & a board
what the owner failed to notice is there is an open door a couple feet down

going for the thermostat

i dig out the door & he goes in
